Firebug only edits files client side so you dont have to find that bug in firefox and keep uploading with ftp or scp to your server. Itdoes NOT save it to the actual files. If it did, sites could be edited to be linked to other ones, and would basically be way to hack.
So if you fixed the site in firebug, make those changes to your file and upload them.
